Thanks to its central location, the Viennese residences are just steps away from a variety of cultural attractions such as; St. Stephen's Cathedral, the Vienna City Opera or the Hofburg. The 65,000 Square meter City Park (Stadtpark) with it’s beautiful greenery, walking paths, restaurants and the famous “Johann Strauss monument was founded during the era of Emperor Francis Joesph and is just a few steps away. Another nearby attraction is the Albertina Museum with its world-famous graphic collection and temporary exhibits of works by renowned masters. Even the baroque “Belvedere Palace” (Schloss Belvedere) with its extensive gardens - once the summer residence of Prince Eugene of Savoy - is in the immediate vicinity. Friends of classical music will appreciate the proximity to the “Concert Hall” (Musikverein) which is comprised of various sized performing areas, the largest of these is the “Great Hall” and due to its unsurpassed acoustics the famous Vienna New Year’s Concert takes place within it every year.
Shopping
The main shopping streets of the First District are pedestrian zones. The three main streets, and there are many others, are Kärntner Street, Kohlmarkt and am Graben. Here you will find the flagship stores for a plethora of international brands such as Cartier, Bulgari, Armani, Gucci, Chanel, Dolce & Gabbana, Loius Vuitton and a host of others.
Culinary
The enjoyment of multi-cultured cuisine and culinary delights is an inseparable part of the Viennese lifestyle. From it’s cozy coffee houses to its trendy bars and first class restaurants you are sure to find whatever your heart or should we say taste-buds desire.
Tips: The following are some classics of Viennese cuisine at the gourmet level. The legendary restaurant Plachutta in the immediate neighborhood of the Viennese residences. The Black Kameel with its Art Nouveau interior and outside seating area is one of the nicest cafes in Vienna to take a break from shopping and have a glass of champagne while watching the world go by. Some of the finest delicacies can be found in the shop “Meinl am Graben”. For modern Austrian cuisine surrounded by a beautiful park, a table at the gourmet restaurant Steirereck in the city park (Stadtpark) is waiting for you. Other upscale dining places and elegant bars can also be found in the nearby luxury hotels of the city; The Hotel Sacher, The Imperial, Bristol, The Grand Hotel, The Ring, Le Meridien are to name just a few.
